We’ve just been handed an urgent project that needs to be completed by next week. Can you help?
With all commissions, I will always have an initial discussion to detail the parameters and objectives of the project. If there is a match between your requirements and my expertise and if my diary allows, I would be delighted to help.
You’re obviously an expert in strategy and process led implementation. Do you do anything else?
I’m a former CEO and renowned for growing companies, so I am more than familiar with all those aspects relating to the key issues of increasing profitability and building equity. A vital part of this and one which I haven’t really touched on within the site, is the people aspect. I am a firm believer that people are the key to any successful company and for that reason my services are often sort to coach individuals who may need guidance in transitioning roles or in a particular aspect of their current role.
Coaching is about producing a shift in attitude, unlocking and unleashing potential, both in the individual and therefore, the business. In my mind, we cannot separate them.
Having identified where the individual wants to be and where the business wants to be, we create the road map i.e. the specific strategies to achieve the chosen aims. I have to stress the word specific, as the route needs to be both measurable and specific. We then work in partnership together towards successful achievement of the goals.
Not everybody is bought into the changing our strategy, but we recognise that we need to change. If you work with us, how will you address this?
To be honest, I have yet to work with a client where everyone is bought in. Nobody particularly likes change, but it has to be said that some are more receptive to others. However, by understanding where individuals excel, by focusing on the positives, through clear communication and by an all inclusive team attitude where everyone has a role to play, it is possible to make the more cynical, valued team members.
Implementation to us is a bit like pulling teeth. What can you do about this?
I agree, it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but fortunately, it is mine. I will work with you in either a coaching or consultative capacity, so I can coach you how to implement effectively or I can lead your team to successful implementation. In either case, my role is to make implementation as painless as possible which I am able to do after years of experience.
Do you work with other people and do you always work on the project?
All initial consultations are carried out by myself without exception. All commissions are carried out by myself and if necessary, I lead a team of experts, depending on the size of the project. I only work with the very best.
It is only on direct agreement with a client (say for example where I am already committed but my team have the necessary expertise), that I will not work directly on the project. However, I will always assume overall responsibility for the project.
